Melanoma

Melanoma is a term which refers to several different types of skin tumours that occur as a result of prolonged exposure to the sun. The majority of melanoma tumours are black in colour. “Melas/melan” is the Greek word for black and ”oma“ means tumour. Melanoma was originally called “black cancer.“
