Beach Warning Flags

Everybody enjoys a day at the beach – sun tanning, surfing, swimming, making sand castles or playing volleyball. However, the seaside does come with its downside. Strong currents, riptides, rogue waves, lightening, jellyfish, sharks, pollution, etc. can all put a damper on your visit. The United States Lifesaving Association (USLSA) has developed a code of warning flags to make it easier for the public to understand the conditions they will confront on a given day. These flags are designed to be highly visible to people arriving at the beach, in the water or exploring the shoreline.
